Triptych (2017)
These works are the mixture of elements from the buildings in a stage of decay. I was focused in photographing cracked paint, damaged plaster layers and other elements of the building structures that being revealed through the process of destruction. I have collected these pieces in the form of photographic documentations as my building material for the future images. I have rearranged them, building piece by piece as I would create a new construction out of these parts of history in a circular way. The element of circle was present in my work from the very beginning, commenting on the enclosed system of the 251 building. The triangular element was taken from the architecture directly, as a form that was oriented towards the future, opening the enclosed shape of the circle to the world outside. Triptych is an examination of the ideas of new and old coming together implemented in a formal language of geometrical forms.
